Put one envelope and two pencils at each place setting. These games work for partners, friends or mixed tables. Let guests choose their teammate and pass on any prompt. Plan about ten minutes per game and leave time for the stories that come out of a surprising answer.

Valentine’s Day date reference
Plan a date with three clues
Each player secretly writes a place, a food and an activity for an imaginary evening. Partners try to guess one another’s choices before opening the envelopes. Give one point for a match and a bonus for turning two different ideas into one plan. A picnic, soup and stargazing might become a thermos dinner under the stars.
Build a duet and deliver a note
Have one partner draw the first half of a heart-shaped postcard and the other finish the scene without talking. Reveal the picture and invent a title together. For the last round, each guest encodes a three-word note using A=1 through Z=26. Swap notes, decode them and tuck the finished cards back into the envelopes as keepsakes.
